Rota Chamber, Mayor Hocog, and Guam Marines Unite for Successful Holiday Celebration

Rota, Northern Mariana Islands — In a heartfelt celebration marking the 7th year of the Marines from Guam coordinating the Toys for Tots program on Rota, Sinapalo Children’s Park became the epicenter of joy. This year’s event was even more special as the Rota Chamber of Commerce, in its inaugural year, joined forces with Mayor Aubry Hocog and the Marines for a heartwarming Toys for Tots Distribution, accompanied by a festive Movie Night and local vendor delights.

Families, businesses, and military personnel gathered with smiles to enjoy the holiday movie projected onto a large screen in the park. Alongside the festive movie night, the distribution of toys brought smiles to children’s faces, a tangible result of the community’s generosity during the Toys for Tots campaign.

President Steven McCoy expressed gratitude for the community’s collective effort:

“Tonight, as we distribute the toys, we are witnessing the direct impact of our community’s generosity during the Toys for Tots campaign. The collaboration with businesses, Mayor Hocog’s office, and the Marines from Guam has not only brought joy to the hearts of children but has also strengthened the bonds within our community. This is our inaugural year as the Rota Chamber of Commerce, and we’re proud to be part of this long standing tradition.”

The Toys for Tots campaign, a cherished tradition in many communities, surpassed expectations, with over 100 toys donated by the Rota Chamber of Commerce alone.

The Marines from Guam celebrated their 7th year coordinating the program on Rota. Their dedication to the cause and commitment to community service were evident throughout the event.

One Marine shared his thoughts on the Marines’ 7th year of involvement:

“Being part of the Toys for Tots program on Rota for the 7th year is truly special for us. It’s heartening to see the community come together, and we are grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this meaningful initiative that brings joy to the children every year.”
