Rota, CNMI – The Rota Chamber of Commerce proudly supported young entrepreneurs on May 9, 2025, by participating in the Dr. Rita H. Inos Jr./Sr. High School’s Business Ownership Class Shark Tank Competition. Chamber Vice President Juan Pan Guerrero, Secretary Dana Calvo, and Director Diana Hocog served as guest judges, or “sharks,” providing valuable feedback on student-led business proposals.
As part of its ongoing commitment to youth empowerment and innovation, the Chamber awarded incentive prizes to two top-performing groups after the competition ended in a tie. The prizes recognized each team’s creativity, hard work, and enthusiasm for entrepreneurship.
“This event showed us just how bright the future of business is on Rota,” said Vice President Juan Pan Guerrero. “These students brought energy, passion, and real ideas to the table. It’s an honor to support them and help guide their entrepreneurial journeys.”
The competition gave students an opportunity to pitch original business ideas, sharpen their public speaking skills, and receive real-world insights from business professionals. For many, it was their first experience presenting in a formal business setting.
“It was exciting to share our idea with actual business leaders,” said one student. “Their feedback made us think more seriously about how we could make it real.”
The Rota Chamber of Commerce’s participation in events like this reflects its broader mission to foster local business growth, promote innovation, and strengthen ties with youth and educational institutions in the community. For more information about the Rota Chamber of Commerce and its upcoming events, please visit www.rotachamber.com or email info@rotachamber.com.
